The dam is a project of the municipally "Dimos Afeton" seat at Neohori. Within 5 years, a wonderful "natural lake" has dammed up and the water that once trickled away every summer now gives an idyllic impression within the gently hills of the surrounding.
These hills, particularly covered with Pine trees and with plants like apples or grapes, give real nice scenery and invite people for walking around. There is a plenty of different fish species which tells us about the autocratic recycling power of nature.
Beside this natural charm of the artificial lake, the economic effects of the dam are very important.
