In the central part of Neohori one finds a beautiful stone paved square with particular architecture, perhaps the most beautiful and picturesque of all Pelion with the imposing Basilica of Aghios Dimitrios contrasting with buildings of original architecture in its surroundings. Taking advantage of the rugged topography the square, raised panoramically in the height of the Temple's roof, is built amphitheatrically in several different levels in a number of imposing stone scales that lead the visitors to its centre. Besides, the square offers ample parking space.
The scenery develops along beautiful cobbled roads that converge towards the central Square. Along these roads huge perennial trees send their shadows to beautiful fountains built on the walls that surround the Square, above which one can see the City Hall. In the North end of it one finds a traditional Middle Age stone covered fountain. To one side of the Square one finds the market building.
From the centre of the town a magnificent view is displayed with a view to the Pelion Mountains, the Pagasitikos gulf, having to the South the Parnassos Mountain and the Evia Island.
Beautiful and cosy restaurants and cafeterias with local delicacies, and other shops are waiting for your visit.
